Make Much of God~ Way 5
Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work.
1 Thessalonians 5:12,13
Every pastor I know will tell you that they appreciate positive feedback on their sermons. It means a lot when someone takes the time to appreciate how they delivered a sermon, to share what they thought about the research that went into it and to express how thankful they are to have their pastor be their pastor.
But sometimes, all of the praise can get a little heady. When a pastor is seen as the authority on all things or when people frequently express how amazing he is, he can be tempted to believe it.
This is why it is so important to pray for humility for your pastor.
But it is also important to know that a crucial way to appreciate your pastor is to make much of God. When we understand that any abilities, any gifts, any talents come from the Lord and when we are convinced that only service that is done for His glory means anything, then we must make much of God.
When your pastor is truly seeking God’s glory, this making much of God will bless him more than anything else could.

Look at our God!
